THE FOURSOME is a fresh work set in the Swing Era (40s-50s) involving two couples. Typical of the period, the girls are anxious to get married, but their boyfriends devise a plot to keep the girls from pressuring them. The plot backfires and, in the course of resolving the relationships, both couples learn more about themselves and their real values. Against a backdrop of this fast-moving romantic love-story coupled with humor, THE FOURSOME is filled with new, memorable songs of substancewritten in the style of the golden-age of musical comedy. Nothing like it (short of revivals) is being offered today! Book, music, lyrics and arrangements of THE FOURSOME were written by Charles Nathan, ASCAP, whose hit songs by Perry Como and Anita Bryant are currently being played. A former Big Band jazz trumpet player and arranger, Nathan earned a 1953 Citation of Achievement from Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) for one hit which was 15 weeks on the Hit parade and #1 in England. |
